Pug Parade Fun

Today I attended the 12th annual Pug Parade in Lakewood Ranch. This was my first time attending this event and it was um, interesting! I've had no idea there were so many pugs around here...there had to be at least 100 in attendance - pug madness! :)

A big congratulations goes to our friends Jill and Lu Jack (aka "King Pug") for taking home best of show in the costume contest!

And just in case you're wondering...that last picture is not a pug dressed up as a llama! :) There were a few therapy llamas in attendance.

Tomorrow will be another busy day - I've got a booth at the Sarasota Pet Fair held at Animals By Nature in Sarasota. If you're in the area, you'll have to stop by! The event is from 11-4 pm.

A little Peyton update...he seems to be feeling better today, but I'm still noticing some trembling in his hind end. I'm reluctant to give him more pain medicine (Metacam) because I'm thinking it might be causing some (unproductive) retching - any thoughts on this?

I think the last pug on the left may need a tongue holder before the thing hits the ground.

I've not had any complaints on Metacam upsetting tummies. On the other hand they are all different just like us and one med that may work for one pup may be a problem for another. If it is upsetting his tummy either stop it or if he is still painful ask your vet for a differnt INSAID. (Previcox or Deramaxx)

I saw that tongue a little later and it was *on* the ground.

Thanks...I'm thinking now that something else is going on. We'll be heading back to the vet in the morning. :/
