Pongo 1994 - 4/24/2010

Pongo passed away in my arms yesterday evening.

He didn't give me the chance to make that painful decision I've been agonizing over for so long. I should have known...that was just the kind of friend that he always was to me. I will be forever grateful.

Goodbye my dear Pongo, our house of spots will never be the same without you.

Pongo will always be a part of you. He was your best friend, loyal companion, & true hero. He was fortunate to live so many years because of your love & faithfulness to him. He will be sadly missed, but always remembered! Mom

Oh, Kim, I was so saddened to see your post this evening. Even though Pongo had a long and wonderful life, it's still hard to lose a good friend. You'll always remember and cherish your "original spotty." I am not surprised to hear that he was your friend until the very end. He knew how hard it would be for you to make the decision to let him go, so in his last act of faithfulness and friendship, he spared you from that.

I hope Pongo meets Dottie and Tigger at the Rainbow Bridge, where they can play and be happy until we're all together again.

So now I'm going to wipe these tears and be grateful that I got to know Pongo through your blog. I've always had a soft spot for old friends, and I'm so happy that Pongo got to live his life with you and Indy and Peyton.

My condolences...sigh. I lost my golden retriever months back and it was really painful, especially that you didn't expect it to happen...may pongo rest in peace.

Oh Kim. I am so sorry. I had to make the "decision" with my spotty, and it was so hard, but I know it was the right one. I held him tight as he passed and sobbed my heart out. My eyes fill with tears as I know how hard this is for all of us when it happens.

My Trixie and Tori are now 6 and it just doesn't seem possible. Time goes far too fast in the lives of our dogs.

belated *hugs* to all of you!!
